Kimberly Kahelin, MAEd, LPCC
Hi, My name is Kim Kahelin and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I have a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Akron. My approach to therapy is to help you face the challenges of life that affect so many of us. I generally draw from several theories including solution-focused, meaning I meet you where you are to help you tackle your current struggles; cognitive behavioral therapy, meaning I help you learn to change your negative thought patterns and behaviors; and systems theory, meaning I look not only at the individual but also how the people and systems around the person have an effect.
In addition to working with people with a variety of mental health concerns, I especially enjoy working with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, OCD, adjustment disorders, problems with self-esteem, postpartum depression or postpartum anxiety, working with young or new mothers and the challenges they may be facing, grief and loss, relationship distress, couples/marital issues, and/or difficulty with communication or conflict resolution. I am married with 2 daughters and 2 dogs. I have a goldendoodle named Bailey and a Saint Bernard named Charlie. I look forward to working with you.
