Participating in a Gottman Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work retreat differs from traditional couples therapy. You are NOT sharing personal problems publicly with the group. All couples exercises are done privately during breakout sessions. These retreats provide an intensive immersion experience, with concrete tools that couples can immediately apply to their marriage. This program offers practical guidance and support in a shorter period of time compared to traditional therapy.

Our Gottman weekend retreats are led by Rich Dempsey, MA, LPCC. He is a Gottman Leader and certified in Level 1 and Level 2 of Gottman training. He has specialized training in the treatment of relationships suffering the effects of trauma and infidelity. Workshops include interactive exercises, discussions, and personalized guidance to help couples apply these principles to their unique relationships.

Schedule and Cost
This 12-hour weekend retreat includes lectures, demonstrations, videos and private couples exercises, based on the internationally acclaimed relationship research of Dr. John Gottman. In addition to the training, participants receive the Seven Principles Workbook Kit.
Each Retreat is a two-day commitment, Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 3pm.
Light Refreshments will be provided both days.
These workshops will be held at our Medina location, Avenues of Counseling and Mediation, LLC. The address is 230 S Court Street, Medina 44256.
The total cost per couple is $550, which must be paid in full to secure a spot. We do not issue refunds in the event of a cancelation, but we are happy to assist you in rescheduling for a future workshop.
