Jeanne Taylor, PhD, LPCC-S

My name is Jeannine (Jeanne) Taylor and I am a Licensed Professional Supervising Clinical Counselor. I have a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Akron, and a Doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from Kent State University. I am a member of several professional organizations, including the American Counseling Association, Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, and the National Career Development Association. I work with adults, families and couples.

My approach to therapy varies but most often I help my clients look for solutions and to tap into their own strengths to solve their problems. I listen empathically to their stories and to help them re-author life stories that are no longer working for them. I also take a systems approach to counseling, which looks at how the people and systems around the client have an effect.

While I work with clients with a variety of concerns, I especially enjoy helping people with balancing work and family, coping with remarried families and step-parenting, strengthening resilience before, during and after divorce, navigating normal and unexpected transitions across the lifestyle, and negotiating the challenges associated with midlife and later life. I also enjoy working with adults of all ages in making career decisions and establishing educational goals. I believe that clients need to experience a sense of feeling heard, listened to, and validated. I strive to be able to see the problem in the way the client sees it, to be able to feel the problem as the client feels it and to understand the richer, deeper meanings that lie below the surface of the problem. My goal is to assist you to discover new solutions that lead you to your best life possible.
