Ronald “Ron” Davis, PhD, LSW

My name is Ron Davis and I am a Licensed Social Worker. I obtained my PhD in Social Work, with a specialization in Medical Social Work from Walden University. I have experience counseling individual adults and families dealing with a wide range of mental health, medical and life concerns. I have been practicing since 2003 and have held leadership positions in multiple healthcare organizations. I am a practicing member of the National Association of Social Workers and serve on the NASW Ethics Committee and NASW Political Action Committee.

My practice employs a client-centered, strengths-based approach that focuses on providing practical interventions and strategies. I understand that each of my clients has a unique view of the world that influences their thoughts and actions. I routinely assist my clients with changing negative thoughts and behavior patterns. At times, I meet my clients where they are to tackle their current struggles, at other times, my clients and I take a deeper look into the relationships and systems around them and their impact. I also acknowledge and understand the role that trauma plays in many of my clients’ lives.

In addition to working with a diverse range of clients experiencing challenges ranging from mild to severe, I have an extensive history working with people experiencing: Anxiety, Relationship issues, Anger/Mood Control issues, Grief/Loss, Adjustment to life change, Trauma (Medical or otherwise).  Additionally, I have experience working with the LGBTQIA population both in adolescents and adults.

When not practicing social work, I can be found attending sporting events or concerts with my wife, or attending sporting events for my two sons who play football, basketball, and baseball.  And if I’m not at a sporting event I am likely at a Dave Matthews Band or any live music concert I can find.
