Judith Zaher, MAEd, LPCC, LSW
My name is Jude (Judith) Zaher and I am dually licensed as a Professional Clinical Counselor and a Social Worker. I have a Master’s degree in Community Counseling from the University of Akron. I have experience in counseling children, adolescents, and adults. I believe that every individual is unique, so I do not rely solely on one specific modality, however, I tend to utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Family Systems Therapy approaches most often. CBT is a modality that involves efforts to change negative thinking patterns and behaviors. A Family Systems approach takes into account that the actions of one individual in a family can affect the whole family unit, and I try to help my clients address issues using this lens.
I work with people with a variety of different mental health issues and substance abuse concerns, but I especially enjoy helping people with issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, Tourette’s syndrome, and bipolar disorder. I have additional expertise in treating body-focused repetitive behavior disorders such as trichotillomania and excoriation disorder from The Trichotillomania Learning Center. I am also a T1D parent. I enjoy collaborating with my clients to help build resilience and enhance coping skills with support and understanding while nurturing positive changes.
