Scott Haslam, MAED, IMFT, LPCC
My name is Scott Haslam and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Independent Marriage and Family Therapist. I graduated from the University of Akron with a Master of Arts in Education degree in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling. I have experience counseling couples, families, children (particularly teenage boys), and adults with emotional disorders and trauma.
My approach to counseling couples and families involves looking at the patterns of interaction that affect the quality of the relationship and how these patterns affect each person in the relationship. My approach to counseling individuals involves identifying and addressing the root of emotional or behavioral problems to create change.
In addition to working with people with a variety of mental health concerns, I especially enjoy working with couples who are struggling in their relationship, families that are broken and in need of healing, teenage boys with anger issues, ADHD, or defiant behaviors, and adults with a history of trauma.
I decided to become a therapist because I enjoy helping people. I also understand the struggles that people go through and believe that despite your struggles, change is possible, and you can find happiness and joy in your life.
