Lisa Fender-Scarr, Ph.D., PCC-S

Biography: Dr. Lisa Fender-Scarr received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Akron in 1998. She also received her Master’s in Community Counseling from the University of Akron. She is a licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision Designation (LPCC-S), an independent license issued for counseling by the State of Ohio.
Dr. Fender-Scarr enjoys working with people of all ages, from children age 8 years to adulthood who present with an array of mental health issues. She primarily utilizes a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach as a means for treating people. She specializes in sports counseling with focuses on performance enhancement as well as mental health issues that impede performance including anxiety, depression, athletic career transitions, injuries, and eating disorders.
