Tony Battaglia, MEd, LPC
My name is Tony Battaglia and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have a Master's of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University. I have experience in counseling children, adolescents, and adults, although I am currently only accepting clients 18 and older.
I want to work to help you empower yourself to meet the ever-changing world with your own changes. I enjoy working with adults experiencing struggles related to trauma, addiction, and a range of other difficulties. I believe that overcoming these struggles is a highly individual process and that every client brings their own unique set of strengths, challenges, and perspectives, so I take an approach to therapy that centers on you as the expert on you.
I use practices such as Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness-based approaches to help clients resolve ambivalence, move toward positive change, and increase present-moment resiliency, as well as techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help build self-understanding, change unhelpful thought patterns, and equip clients with coping skills.
In my free time I enjoy gardening, hiking, cooking, and spending time with my family, including my four cats, six chickens, and three ducks.
