My name is Dr. Monica Ross Reider. I use evidence-based therapy approaches to help work through life’s various problems by learning ways to accept life events and finding out what really matters so that we can live a life that we value. The approach I use is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I have had extensive training and experience in the treatment of trauma from my work with trauma survivors. Together, we worked through the thoughts, memories and behaviors that prevent them from living the life they want and feeling trapped in the past. Some of the areas that we worked through involve: domestic or family violence, dating violence, verbal, physical, or sexual abuse, serious accidents, community violence (shooting, burglary, assault, bullying), and natural disasters (tornado, fire, flood, hurricane).

I have over 30 years of experience as a mental health counselor. I received my Masters in Counseling from Indiana University in 1993 and returned to graduate school later in my career to complete my Doctorate in Counseling Psychology at The American School of Professional Psychology (Argosy University) in 2012. I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor in the state of Ohio and a member of the Ohio Counseling Association. I hold three National Board Certifications (e.g., National Clinical Counselor (NCC), Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and a National Advocate Credentialing Program- Certified Advocate (CA).

I am a lifelong learner. I appreciate the arts and history that surrounds me. I love to garden, and spend quality time with family, friends and my loyal dog, Max. The perfect evening is spent with family and friends with good conversation, a good meal, in a beautiful garden.
