Melanie Vaughan, MSW, LISW-S

My name is Melanie Vaughan and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a Supervision Designation. I graduated from the University of Akron with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. I have over 12 years of experience treating children (10+), adolescents, adults, families, and groups in a variety of settings.

My approach to therapy is from a relational and humanistic perspective, which means that I will help you recognize and utilize your strengths and resources to support the healing and change process that you feel is the most comfortable. We will work as a team to help you understand how your environment, relationships, and experiences have influenced your thoughts, feelings, and behavior. I use my specialized skills to help my clients and their families identify the primary problems and the key strengths of each member. Then we will come up with effective solutions that will assist family members, educators, and related professionals best meet the client’s needs for long-term success. I enjoy joining together with my clients to help them build resilience and enhance coping skills with support and understanding while nurturing positive changes.

In addition to working with people with a variety of different mental health concerns, I utilize multiple evidence-based modalities to match your needs. I often work with individuals who experience symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral concerns, and difficulties with managing ADHD.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, going to different sporting events (including my own), watching reruns of my favorite TV shows, and reading.
