Megan L. Kaufman, MSSA, LISW

My name is Megan Kaufman and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Ohio University and a Master of Science in Social Administration (MSSA) from Case Western Reserve University. I have experience in counseling children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My approach to therapy is a combination of Systems Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Psychoanalytical. This means looking at not only the individual but also how the people and systems around the person have an effect and involve a slow and deliberate dive into the origin and meaning behind the issue to encourage better understanding. Also, helping people learn to change negative thought patterns and behaviors to increase resiliency.

In addition to working with people with a variety of mental health concerns, I have extensive experience in assessing for and treating a variety of mood disorders, adjustment disorders, and personality disorders. I will utilize spirituality as a way of coping upon request of the client. I genuinely enjoy making connections with my clients and the fulfillment of watching individuals, couples, and families grow and change in a positive way.
