Maggie McCreary, MEd, LPCC

My name is Maggie McCreary and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I have a Master’s of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University. I have experience in counseling children, adolescents, and adults, though I am currently only accepting clients ages 18+. My approach to therapy is to meet you where you are and create a space that is safe and non-judgmental. I place the most importance on our therapeutic relationship. You are the expert in your own life. I will bring my knowledge, skills, and sincerity to help you reach your goals.

My counseling style pulls from different evidence-based techniques and strategies such as strengthening awareness with mindfulness, building strong coping skills, enhancing self-esteem, and regulating emotions effectively. I view these techniques through a trauma-informed lens. These interventions can be helpful for those who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, and ADHD.

In addition to working with a diverse range of clients, I enjoy working with adolescents and young adults during transitional periods in their life. Change can be difficult and overwhelming. I can help you ease this transition with a strengths-based approach. Mental health and self-care are essential in wellness. It is an honor to work with you and explore life experiences together.

In my free time, I love gardening and spending time with my family, four cats, six chickens, and three ducks.
