Lisa Fender-Scarr, PhD, LPCC-S

My name is Lisa Fender-Scarr and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I have a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Akron. I have numerous articles published in professional journals related to sport psychology and athletes, as well as eating disorders. I have experience in counseling adolescents and adults for an array of mental health issues. My approach to therapy is to help you actively learn ways of changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that do not serve you well.

In addition to working with people dealing with a variety of mental health concerns, I specialize in helping athletes with performance enhancement such as goal-setting, focus, and imagery, as well as mental health issues that impede sport performance including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, career transition out of sports, and injuries.
