Karen Wolf, MAEd, LPCC-S

My name is Karen Wolf and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision Credentials in the state of Ohio. (LPCC-S). I have a Masters Degree in Counseling from the University of Akron, and I am a member of the American Counseling Association and the Ohio Counseling Association. My approach to therapy uses a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma focused CBT, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. This means we focus on changing thoughts and behaviors to move toward real change, and we focus on emotions and needs to help improve your interpersonal relationships.

As a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist, I help clients build insight about how their past experiences impact their present lives. I am trained as a Level II Gottman Method Couples Therapist, which provides me with specialized strategies and interventions in my work with couples. I am also trained in Discernment Therapy, a short-term approach to meet the unique needs of couples on the brink of divorce. With training in the ComBs approach, I also help clients concerned with hair pulling and other Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors.

I work with people facing a variety of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, phase of life issues, couples counseling, partner betrayal, couples considering divorce, suicide prevention, and hair pulling / skin picking behaviors. I have 24 years of experience working with adolescents (14+), couples, individuals and families. I am very honored when clients allow me to share in their unique life joys and struggles, and I believe everyone can be empowered to live the life they want. When not in the therapy office, I share a fulfilling life with my husband, teenage son, and triplet middle schoolers. When I can carve out a minute for myself, I like yoga, reading, painting, hiking and spending time trying to grow something in my garden. Weeds are my specialty.
