Joselyn Vasquez, MSSA, LISW-S

My name is Joselyn Vasquez and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Science Administration from Case Western Reserve University. I have over ten years of experience providing counseling to children (ages 8 and up), adolescents, teens, couples, and families, supporting individuals and family systems through emotional, relational, and life-stage challenges.

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and practical. I use cognitive behavioral strategies to help clients recognize and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to stress, anxiety, or conflict. I also take a solution-focused approach, meaning I meet you where you are and focus on identifying strengths, building skills, and finding workable solutions to current concerns rather than spending excessive time analyzing the past. Whether working with an individual, a child, or an entire family, my goal is to help clients feel empowered, understood, and capable of positive change.

I have extensive experience working with couples and families navigating communication challenges, parenting stress, blended family dynamics, and attachment concerns. I especially enjoy helping parents develop effective, realistic parenting strategies that support emotional regulation, behavior management, and stronger family relationships. I also work closely with children (8+) and teens experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional transitions, and family-related stressors, tailoring my approach to be developmentally appropriate and supportive.

In addition, I am fully fluent in Spanish and have significant experience working with culturally diverse populations. I am knowledgeable about cultural and identity-related concerns and strive to provide culturally responsive, inclusive care. My areas of interest include anxiety, depression, family and couples issues, attachment concerns, cultural challenges, and supporting children and adolescents as they navigate growth and change.

For added convenience, I offer Wednesday evening appointments and limited Sunday availability, making therapy more accessible for busy families, working parents, and teens with school commitments.

I am committed to helping you overcome life’s “speed bumps” and supporting you as you build healthier ways to think, feel, communicate, and move forward.
