Johni Fiber, MEd, LPCC-S

My name is Johni and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I have a degree in Counseling from Kent State University and a Bachelors in Psychology from The University of Akron.. I have over 20 years of experience in counseling children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. I approach therapy from a relational and humanistic perspective, which means that I will help you recognize and utilize your unique strengths and resources to support the healing or change process that makes most sense to you. We will work as a team to help you to understand how your environment, relationships, and cultural experiences have influenced your thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Together, we will identify your primary needs and what an authentic and satisfying life looks like for you.

In addition to working with people with a variety of different mental health or substance use concerns, I utilize multiple evidence-based modalities to match your needs. I often work with individuals who have survived trauma and I have specialized training in several treatment modalities (EMDR, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, DBT, and Somatic Experiencing) that can help you manage difficult symptoms, emotions and memories associated with traumatic experiences. Additionally, I specialize in working with LGBTQIA children, teens, adults, couples, and families, specifically those who identify as transgender or non-binary. When working with children and families I utilize attachment based treatment modalities to aid in enhancing the relationship between the child and the parent. I educate on and encourage the use of Gentle Parenting, Responsive Parenting, Trauma Informed Parenting. My goal is to help you feel safe, secure, and cared for. In my free time, I enjoy reading, all things creative, cooking, and hosting parties for my chosen family, and spending time with my wife and our pets.
