Jennifer Fiala, MA, LPC
My name is Jen, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and I have a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Certificate in Couples and Family Therapy from The University of Akron. I have experience counseling adults, adolescents, couples, and families.
My approach to therapy includes creating a safe, non-judgemental space to work with clients. I hope to help my clients explore concerns in their life, build insight into their story, and achieve lasting change. I listen to my clients and believe that the therapeutic relationship is extremely important. I often utilize evidence-based practices including a Mindfulness-Based Approach to help you learn how to be present in life, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you learn to recognize and change negative thought patterns and behaviors and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to teach you skills that will help you through whatever has brought you to counseling.
In addition to working with people with a variety of different mental health concerns, I enjoy and have experience working with those struggling with anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, relationship distress, life transitions, problems with self-esteem, anger management, and perinatal care including postpartum depression, and early parenthood adjustments. I also am a certified yoga teacher (E-RYT-500) and when not working with my clients you may find me teaching yoga. I enjoy exercising, cooking, hiking, reading, and spending time with my partner.
