Ashley Gregory, MA, LPCC-S
My name is Ashley Gregory and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with a Supervisory Designation. I have a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walsh University. I have experience in counseling children, adolescents and adults.
In my work, I blend traditional counseling techniques, evidenced-based practice modalities such as EMDR, DBT and CBT to address each of my client’s unique needs. CBT treatment usually involves efforts to change thinking patterns and behavioral patterns through various strategies that are introduced within counseling. DBT is a form of treatment that provides clients with new skills that help manage painful emotions and decrease conflict in interpersonal relationships.
I am trained in EMDR through The Institute for Creative Mindfulness. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a form of therapy that uses eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation to help individuals process and overcome traumatic experiences with less emotional impact.
My goal in counseling is to meet each client where they are at to help manage everyday struggles, encourage each client to accept themselves, feel safe, and manage and regulate their emotions effectively. I enjoy incorporating mindfulness, grounding techniques, interpersonal skill building, and assisting clients with building and utilizing coping skills from play therapy.
In addition to working with people with a variety of mental health disorders, I enjoy working specifically with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, phase of life issues, anger management, family issues, parenting, childhood/adolescent mood and behavior concerns. I also have experience working with the LGBTQ+ community, clients who may struggle with sexuality/gender issues and clients who have gone through the process of transitioning.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, hanging out with my cat, being crafty and cheering on local sports teams with my husband.
