“How did you know you wanted to be a psychologist?”

“I wanted to become a psychologist because I wanted to follow in the footsteps of family members (my dad is a clinical psychologist practicing in my home state of Pennsylvania), so I grew up with a great deal of admiration and respect for those in our field.  Additionally, because psychology gives so many options in terms of career paths, our knowledge and experience are always in demand.  I enjoy giving people the confidence to help themselves live healthier, more productive lives.  This profession enables me to be a lifelong learner, and apply what I learn in research studies and training sessions to my clinical practice.  I’m very interested in the interplay between physical and mental health, as well as the relationships between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.”
